A journey of history, nature, and turquoise waters
Day 1: Friday – Monemvasia & Neapoli
Our adventure begins with departure from Tripoli, heading towards the legendary medieval town of Monemvasia.
Step through the castle gate and wander the cobblestone streets of this living monument. Discover:
- The Lower Town, with its stone-built houses, charming squares, cafés, and artisan shops.
- The Church of Elkomenos Christos, a jewel of Byzantine architecture.
- The Monemvasia Archaeological Museum, housed in a former mosque.
- The Upper Town, where the 12th-century Church of Agia Sophia offers breathtaking views of the Aegean.
Stroll past ancient ruins, archways, and noble crests before indulging in a tasting of local olive oil, the famed Malvasia wine, and sweet treats like almond cookies and samousades.
In the afternoon, we continue to Neapoli. Upon arrival, check into our centrally located hotel and enjoy free time to relax or take a leisurely walk along the picturesque harbor.
Day 2: Saturday – Elafonisos Paradise & Kastania Caves
After breakfast, we head to Pounda and board the short ferry to Elafonisos – an island paradise renowned for its white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Spend your morning soaking up the sun at the iconic Simos or Panagia beaches.
In the afternoon, we return to the mainland and visit the magical Kastania Caves, where millions of years have shaped an awe-inspiring world of stalactites and stalagmites.
Our day concludes in the coastal village of Velanidia, where we’ll enjoy a traditional meal with panoramic sea views. Return to Neapoli for the night.
Day 3: Sunday – Petrified Forest & Gytheio
We begin the day with a visit to the Petrified Forest of Agia Marina, a rare geological wonder where fossilized tree trunks stand as silent witnesses to prehistoric times.
Next, we travel to Gytheio, a charming seaside town perfect for a stroll along its colorful waterfront, with time for coffee or a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon, we return to Tripoli, bringing home memories of an unforgettable journey.
