2-day trip to Tinos

On the weekend of 14-15/5/2022, the Travel Agency of KTEL Arcadia S.A. organised a 2-day trip to Tinos. On Saturday, we departed at 04:30 a.m. from Kolokotroni Square for Rafina to start our journey by boat to the Muse of the Aegean, Tinos. As soon as we arrived on the island, we went to the Okeanis hotel to collect our rooms and then we had the whole day free for our pilgrimage to the Holy Church of the Evangelistria of Tinos, the most important Orthodox Pilgrimage in Greece and one of the most famous in the world, and for a stroll around the island. On Sunday morning, after breakfast, we departed for the Monastery of the Dormition of the Theotokos - the Monastery of Saint Pelagia. The monastery of the Dormition of the Theotokos or Kyra of the Angels is one of the most important monasteries in Greece. In the renovated Hegoumenio of the Monastery, among other things, relics of Saints are kept, the silver-plated icon of Panagia from the ship of Konstantinos Kanaris and a silver Gospel, a gift from Queen Olga. After our pilgrimage, we visited the village of Volax. A village built on a myth or a strange natural phenomenon, which when you approach the area, you can't help but wonder how so many large round rocks are scattered over such a large area. After our stroll around the famous village, we returned to Tinos and in the afternoon, we departed from the port of Tinos for Rafina and Tripoli. Our next destination is Zakynthos on Sunday, 29 May 2022.
