3-day trip to Ioannina, Metsovo, Zagorochoria

Departure from Kolokotroni Square in Tripoli at 07:00 p.m., and via the National Road Tripoli – Corinth – Patras – Ioannina and with intermediate stops for coffee we arrive in Ioannina, where we will visit the Museum of Greek History and Waxworks “Paul Vrellis”. The Museum of Greek History Paul Vrellis, also known as the Waxworks Museum, was founded in February 1983 on the initiative of Paul Vrellis, opened its doors in 1995 and is the most well-known museum of this kind in Greece. It is the work of one man, Paul Vrellis, who worked tirelessly for 13 years, only for this. After admiring the museum's exhibits, we will depart for Metsovo, where we will sit down for a meal. It is a traditional settlement, located at the eastern end of the county, near the border with the Trikala county, on the northern slopes, between the mountains of the largest mountain range in Greece, Pindus. On Saturday morning, after breakfast, we will depart for the beautiful Zagorochoria. Picturesque villages, hidden in the arms of nature, with tranquility as an ally and breathtaking views. Monodendri, Tsepelovo and Papigo are some of them. After admiring the beauty of the Zagori villages, we will have coffee and lunch, and in the afternoon, we will return to Ioannina. Free evening.

On Sunday morning, we will have free time to visit the Historic Center of Ioannina, ten treasures, visible and well-hidden. The old town, the legends of the Castle, the island of the lake, the lakeside area, the Museums, and the ancient theater of Dodona are some of them. After our stroll in the city of Ioannina, we will take the road back to Tripoli at noon with an intermediate stop on our way for lunch.
