16/03/2024 Kozani – Siatista

Breakfast and departure for the picturesque town of Siatista, Kozani.

There, we can visit the ecclesiastical museum with rich exhibits from the 17th century and later.

Notable is the Church of Prophet Elias, with hagiographies of Ancient Greek Philosophers.

The paleontological museum of Siatista with several exhibits, including the elephant of Kaloneri, and the Botanical Museum of the Siatista Association, "O Bourninos", deserve special mention. Apart from the museums, in Siatista, the distinctive and imposing mansions, with the most famous ones being those of Manousis, Pouilkos, and Dolgeras, which are also visitable, are impressive. Brilliant jewels of folk tradition. Before our departure from this small but rich settlement, we can visit one (or all) of the four special wineries in the area. There, one of the most delicious wines of Macedonia is prepared: "the liasto" wine of Siatista. It is called so because to be made, the grapes are spread on sieves (the liastres) for 40-60 days. Of course, there is also the possibility to enjoy a rich meal with local delicacies at one of the taverns in the area, before we leave for Kozani.

Breakfast and departure for Neraida, where we can enjoy the view towards the artificial lake of Velventos.

Coffee/food optionally and return to Kozani.

18/03/2024 Veria – Holy Monastery of Panagia Dovra – Kalamata

Breakfast and departure for Veria and the Holy Monastery of Panagia Dovra.

Sightseeing tour of the Monastery and departure with intermediate stops for Kalamata.

Arrival in Kalamata late in the afternoon.

Accommodation at the Anessis 3* hotel with breakfast.
