Arcadian Tours invites you to a unique pilgrimage and festive trip to Ancient Messene, on the occasion of the great festival of Panagia Voulkaniotissa, patron saint and protector of the city.
- Departure from Kolokotroni Square in Tripoli on Monday 22/09 at 16.00
- Arrival in Ancient Messene, where we will pay our respects to the sacred icon of Panagia Voulkaniotissa.
- Time for a stroll and participation in the traditional festival, where the whole city celebrates with music, treats and local products.
- Free time for a walk in the historic center of Ancient Messene, with its beautiful squares and picturesque cafes.
A few words about the Festival
Panagia Voulkaniotissa is honored every year with grand events on 20 September, the day the miraculous icon is transferred from the Voulkanou Monastery to the city of Ancient Messene. The event gathers a multitude of faithful from all over Peloponnese, in a centuries-old tradition that connects faith with folk tradition.
