Over the three-day period 23-25 September 2022, the trip of the General Tourism Office of KTEL Arcadia S.A. took place on the island of Kythira. On Friday, 23 September 2022, we departed from Astros and Tripoli for Neapoli, from where we left by boat for a unique island, the island of Aphrodite, Kythira. As soon as we arrived, we departed with our company's buses for the Anessis Hotel, Pantonia Apartments, Pelagia Beach, and Afrodite Pelagia hotels to pick up our rooms. Our evening was free to have fun at the festival of the beautiful village association of Agia Pelagia for the celebration of Panagia Myrtidiotissa.
On Saturday morning, on the feast day of Myrtidiotissa, we departed for the largest monastery on the island, the Holy Monastery of Panagia Myrtidiotissa. On the feast day, we visited the monastery to attend the Divine Liturgy. The monastery is located in the Myrtidia area in the west of the island and is built in a natural rocky opening, surrounded by many myrtle trees! The icon of Panagia Myrtidiotissa is the most valuable treasure of the island and is the protector of Kythira everywhere. After our pilgrimage, we departed for a beautiful tour of the island. We were guided in Kapsali, the Castle, and the waterfalls of Mylopotamos, and in the Chora of the island. At noon, we sat down for a swim and food in Kapsali, and in the afternoon, we returned to the hotel.
On Sunday morning, after breakfast, we departed for the village of Potamos and the market of the area with its beautiful traditional products. Then, we visited Agia Moni and the village of Avlemonas, where we sat down for food. At noon, we departed for the port of the island, from where we departed at 15:00 p.m. from the island for the port of Neapoli and Tripoli.
