Day 3rd: Cruise

An eternity and a day

In the morning we start our tour of the West Bank of the Nile, where it is located. The Valley of Kings With the elaborate burial monuments to highlight the pharaonic zeal for the claim of eternity. In the afternoon, a tour of the East Coast. At the sight of the temples of Luxor and Karnak, the traveller perceives their uniqueness; at the entrance of the temple of Karnak, sphinxes with lamb heads welcome visitors to the most impressive “walkway” of antiquity. Nowhere in the world will you find a temple complex more glamorous and impressive. Respectively, the unique spectacle of the temple of Luxor dedicated to the god Ammon with the statues of Ramses II at the entrance and the genius architecture, seal our introduction to this mysterious world that has passed into the world with the same magnificence that it retained while it was alive.

At the end of the day, the river ship leaves Luxor sailing to Enfou, preparing us for new adventures.

Day 4: The Cruise

In the sight of the travellers

In a beautiful location in Enfou, the homonym temple with Hellenistic elements is located almost intact by the mania of time.On the west bank of the Nile, the city during the Hellenistic period was known as Polled CityMost of its temple was dedicated to the god Horus and the god of the Trees, while in the temple of Kom Obo the ancient Egyptians worshipped the god – the crocodile!

Full of images coming from the depths of the architectural wonders we saw during the day, we will walk through the last and one of the most beautiful pieces of our water route that will take us to the legendary Aswan.

Day 5: Cruise and Abu Simbel

Pharaonic power demonstration in an archaeological site – overproduction and ride with picturesque foxes!

Breakfast finds us in Aswan. Very early, we will depart by road for one of the greatest "super-productions" of antiquity, the temple of Abu Simbel. Carved into the Western bank of the Nile, the magnificent Temple of Ramses II and the smaller one of the goddess Hathor, built in honour of Queen Nefertiti, dates back to the 13th century BC and symbolizes Ramses' victory over the Hittites in the Battle of Kadesh. At the same time, it highlights the absolute pharaonic display of power towards the nation of Nubians who lived near Abu Simbel and were enemies of Egypt. We enjoy the impressive Aswan High Dam and the Temple of Philae Island.

In our afternoon stroll with the picturesque feluccas we will circumnavigate Elephantine Island, one of the oldest settlements of the Nile with an important position on the then borders of Egypt and Nubia. From afar, the mausoleum of Aga Khan, one of the landmarks of Aswan, dominates the opposite hill and attracts our admiration like a magnet.

Last overnight stay in Aswan in Upper Egypt!

Day 6: Cruise (disembarkation) – Cairo (guided tour of old Cairo & Khan el-Khalili)

We depart by air for the familiar capital of the country, Cairo. Upon arrival, we start our guided tour of old Cairo, known as Christian-Coptic Cairo, one of the important sites visited by the Holy Family. The spiritual and religious awe is intense. We will visit the Church of Saint Barbara and the Hanging Church of the Virgin Mary. Next, we will visit the Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus, also known as Abu Serga, in Coptic Cairo, which is one of the oldest Coptic churches in Egypt and dates back to the 4th century.

We will conclude with a visit to the traditional and very picturesque Khan el-Khalili market, located in the heart of Islamic Cairo, in a part of the city protected by UNESCO. It dates back to around 1382 and some of the goods offered in its 900 shops are glassware, cookware, perfumes, and jewellery. Many artisans even make objects there. Transfer to our hotel.

Day 7: Cairo (Alexandria)

After breakfast, we depart for a day trip to the city founded and named by Alexander the Great. As is natural, our day in Alexandria is dedicated to a guided tour of the city. The Pompey's Pillar, the highest pillar ever erected outside the imperial capitals, Rome and Istanbul , the catacombs which are the largest Roman cemetery in three levels carved into the rock, the Citadel, the 15th-century defensive fortress on the Mediterranean coast and of course, the New Library of Alexandria (if it is open), could not be missing from our guided tour, laying the foundations for a sightseeing tour that overflows with Roman and Greek references. Our trip includes lunch. Return to Cairo.

8th Day: Cairo – Athens

The Pharaoh's secret: Returning from a journey of a lifetime

A successful journey – a dream come true for most people with the signature COSMORAMA has reached its end. Satisfied from the rich journey we made in the beautiful country of great archaeological treasures, we depart by air for Athens. The secret of the pharaohs' eternity is now imprinted on a huge smile painted on the lips.
