PANORAMA OF SWITZERLAND-ALPINE TRAIN 6 DAY AIR TRIP

1st day: ATHENS – MILAN – LUGANO – LUCERNE – ZURICH

Gathering at El. Venizelos airport and flight to Milan. Arrival, boarding the coach and departure for Switzerland. Wonderful landscapes lead us to Lugano, in the city that beats with the precision of a Swiss watch and is built on the homonymous lake. Its beauty is not due only to nature, but mainly to its inhabitants, who have taken care to keep it both traditional and modern. Brief sightseeing tour and stroll on the lake's beach. Our next destination is the picturesque Lucerne. Sightseeing tour in the impressive old town with the colourful facades of the houses, the cobblestone streets and the small squares decorated with fountains. A major attraction is the wooden covered medieval bridge Kapellbrücke, which depicts the city's history in 120 paintings on wood, the old Town Hall and the cobblestone historic centre give the city a fairytale-like atmosphere. Free time. We suggest a visit to Mount Pilatus with an incredible view of the surrounding mountains and Lake Lucerne from the top of Mount Pilatus, which is accessible by cable car. Truly, the view is incredible both from the top of the mountain and during the cable car ride. Transfer to our hotel in Zurich. Check-in to the rooms. Overnight stay.

2nd day: ZURICH – RHINE FALLS

After breakfast, we will have a panoramic sightseeing tour of the city of Zurich. Crossing Bahnhofstrasse, where the largest banks in Switzerland and modern shops are located, we will reach the large Romanesque Cathedral, which dominates the banks of the Limmat River, we will see the Gothic Fraumünster church with its famous Marc Chagall stained glass windows, the Town Hall, the Opera, and the modern Le Corbusier Centre, which exhibits works by the famous Swiss architect, sculptor and painter. Immediately after, we will visit the Rhine Falls in the town of Schaffhausen, located on the Swiss-German border, to see the most impressive waterfalls in Europe in terms of water volume, amidst the lush Alpine landscape. Return to Zurich. Overnight stay.

3rd day: ZURICH – CHUR – ST MORITZ (ALPINE TRAIN)

Breakfast and departure for the most famous tourist resort in Switzerland, St Moritz, through a unique route of about three hours that will captivate you. We will pass through lakes, glaciers and picturesque villages that are located among green forests and mountains and impress with their quaintness and beauty. Arrival in St Moritz and free time to take your walks and taste local delicacies, such as the famous cheese fondue. Return to our hotel in Zurich. Overnight stay.

4th day: ZURICH – INTERLAKEN – BERN – LAUSANNE

Breakfast at the hotel. Crossing the beautiful Swiss countryside we will visit the cosmopolitan Interlaken, the city between the lakes as its name means. We will walk along the Höheweg promenade with the chestnut and Indian horse chestnut trees and admire the unique beauties of the city. Next on our route is the capital of Switzerland, the beautiful Bern, which is built on the banks of the Aar river. On our sightseeing tour of the old town we will see the famous Clock Tower with the most beautiful clockwork puppet theatre, the Cathedral of Saint Vincent and the building that houses the Federal Parliament. Finally, departure for Lausanne, the city-seat of the Olympic Games. Check-in at our hotel. Overnight stay.

5th day: LAUSANNE – MONTREUX – VEVEY – GREYERZ – BROC (CHOCOLATE FACTORY)

Breakfast at the hotel. On our sightseeing tour of the old town of Lausanne, we will see the Mont Répo park, the Place de la Riponne with the Rumine Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Ouchy district on Lake Geneva, the Olympic Museum and the historic luxury hotel Beau Rivage. Our next point of reference is the "diamond" of the Swiss Riviera, the famous Montreux. It is world-renowned for its distinguished visitors (such as Lord Byron, Tolstoy and Freddie Mercury), as well as for its famous jazz music festival. Next on our route is Vevey, the historic name of this Swiss town is Viviscus and is mentioned for the first time by the ancient Greek astronomer and geographer Ptolemy. Charlie Chaplin lived in this town when he left the USA. We then depart for the medieval Greyerz, known for the production of the same-named cheese. This alpine village, with its 15th- and 17th-century houses and its 11th-century castle, is one of the most important tourist attractions in the area. It is more than certain that it will enchant you, as it will transport you to a different, romantic era. Free time for shopping and photos. Our next stop is the town of Broc. We have officially arrived in the paradise of chocolate. Soon we find ourselves in front of the chocolate factory and start our guided tour, with chocolate tastings. The aromas and images there stay in our memory forever! The time of return has come, we bid farewell to the Swiss chocolates to return to Lausanne. Overnight stay.

Day 6: Lausanne – Geneva – Athens

Breakfast and departure to the elegant and cosmopolitan Geneva, the seat of many major international organizations. Built on the shores of Lake Leman, it is the second largest city in Switzerland after Zurich. Among the attractions to see are the Palace of the Nations, the Red Cross Museum, the famous Jet d’O Fountain, the flower clock, the house where John Capodistrias lived, St. Peter’s Cathedral and the International Monument of the Religious Reformation. The picturesque streets of the old town with its stone buildings, combined with the modern city of banks and major insurance companies will impress you. Transfer to Geneva Airport and return flight to Athens.
